Line Editing focuses on how your story is written—not changing your plot, but elevating the expression of it. I’ll refine the prose at the sentence and paragraph level to strengthen voice, enhance flow, and heighten emotional resonance. Edits are delivered via Track Changes so you can accept or decline each suggestion.

Think of it as: style, clarity, and rhythm—line by line—while preserving your voice.

🧾 What You’ll Provide

  • Your full manuscript in .docx format
  • A short intake form covering:
    – Subgenre, tropes, target audience (and heat level, if applicable)
    – Any recurring concerns (e.g., repetitive phrasing, choppy flow, too wordy)

📘 What You’ll Get

  • Line-by-line edits with Track Changes to improve clarity, rhythm, tone, and readability
  • Margin comments (used thoughtfully) when:
    – A creative decision is needed
    – Meaning is unclear and context matters
    – A note will help you learn/replicate the improvement elsewhere
  • Email follow-up support — ask questions about your edits at no extra charge

This service does not include: developmental editing (story/structure), full mechanical correction (comprehensive grammar/usage/style-guide enforcement), or proofreading for final typos. If a manuscript only requires heavy mechanical fixes, I may recommend a Copyedit instead.

$0.01 USD per word
🧾 Minimum Project Fee: $250 USD

To reserve your spot, a non-refundable minimum payment of $250 USD is due at booking. This deposit secures your place on the schedule and applies toward your total.

If your total exceeds the minimum:

  • 50% of the total fee (minus deposit) is due on or before your scheduled start date
  • The remaining balance is due prior to delivery of your edited manuscript

💡 Example Pricing:
50,000 words → $500 total

  • $250 due at booking (non-refundable deposit)
  • No additional payment due by start date (deposit covers first 50%)
  • $250 due at completion (before delivery)

📄 Submission Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be complete and self-edited, after content edits (not a rough first draft)
  • Submit in .docx format
  • Please provide your file by 8:00 AM ET on your scheduled start date (or earlier)

⏱️ Turnaround Time

Variable. Depending on length, complexity, and my writing schedule, line edits may be completed in as little as 1–2 weeks for shorter and mid-length works, with longer timelines for longer novels or during busier times.

🔍 Genre & Content Guidelines

I happily work with all fiction genres. If your book isn’t romance, I’ll tailor notes to your genre’s tone and reader expectations.

I do not accept manuscripts with rape as an active plot element. If it occurred off-page before the story and is only referenced, we can discuss comfort levels beforehand.

For dark/taboo content, please include relevant trigger warnings in advance.
